DISCOLOURED water was reportedly coming from taps in Worcester although the water company said they had yet to receive a complaint.

The issue was raised on a Facebook group for WR3 residents on Tuesday (July 2) although Severn Trent Water said they had received no complaints about water quality.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said: “We’re sorry to hear that some customers in Gilmour Crescent have experienced discolouration of their tap water today. This is usually the result of harmless, naturally occurring deposits which can collect at the bottom of water pipes over time and are disturbed when there’s a change in pressure.

“Discoloured water may not look very pleasant but is usually harmless and should clear by running the cold tap for a few minutes.

“If this doesn’t work, we ask that customers get in touch with us to let us know about the problem and we can investigate the cause.”
