Ahead of awards season, Disney+ is launching a new subscription deal that gives new subscribers the chance to catch up on the most-talked about movies for a lower fee.

2024 Oscar nominees like Poor Things will soon be released on the streaming platform, while Bafta success stories like Rye Lane and The Creator are already available to watch. Subscribers can also check out past Academy Award winners like Nomadland and The Shape of Water on the platform.

Here is everything you need to know about the new deal.

It has been confirmed by Disney+ that from Thursday, 29 February until Thursday, 14 March new and returning customers can subscribe to Disney+ Standard with Ads for just £1.99 per month, for three months. This deal will save subscribers £9 compared to the usual fee for the same timeframe.

Following the three-month period the Disney+ Standard with Ads subscription will automatically renew to the then-current monthly price. At the moment, the price stands at £4.99 per month. The offer can be redeemed on the Disney+ website.

Should a subscriber decide to end the deal after three months they can do so, and if they do cancel then their subscription will not automatically renew to the £4.99 price band. The new offer is available to new or eligible returning customers only.

Other highlights on the platform include the critically-acclaimed historical drama Shōgun. (Disney+)

There is a lot to enjoy on Disney+, with the streaming platform currently releasing the critically-acclaimed historical drama Shōgun and being home to other FX hits like The Bear and Reservation Dogs. Elsewhere there is a plethora of classics to dive into, both in the TV and film world, from Disney, 20th Century, Searchlight and more.

March will continue to be a busy month of releases for the platform, such as an exclusive extended edition of Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour concert film from 15 March. The movie is being released just after this new deal expires, so for any loyal members of the Swiftie fanbase it seems a perfect time to sign up.

With the Oscars set to take place on 10 March, the deal also arrives right on time for anyone looking to enjoy some of the films that have been nominated ahead of time.

Disney+'s Standard with Ads for £1.99/month for three months subscription is available from 29 February to 14 March.
