THIS year’s last Bournemouth Air Festival will see the return of a much-loved display team last seen in 2019.

The Red Devils Army Parachute Display Team will appear at this year’s show on all three days from Thursday, August 29 to Saturday, August 31.

They will be performing jumps every day and night, with the evening displays featuring LED suits and using pyrotechnics.

The team, supported by the Highcliff Marriott Hotel, is an elite unit of the British Army Parachute Regiment, showcasing the capabilities of the Army’s skilled paratroopers.

Having performed to audiences across the world, the team has completed more than 350 tandem skydives and 60 parachute displays every year.

As well as the Red Devils, the Royal Air Force’s Eurofighter Typhoon, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, featuring the iconic Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane, and the RAF Tutor are all coming back.

However, this year will not see the Red Arrows due to previously agreed commitments overseas during the same period.

Also not coming back is the Tigers Army Parachute Display Team (because of a “reform of the army parachute display teams” for this year) and Team Yakovlevs (after it ceased operations).

Meanwhile the usual host of fun and entertainment will also be available across the beaches, including fairground rides, pier to pier trading, fireworks, vintage displays, demonstrations from the Army and Navy, exciting night air displays and more.
