The disruption to bus services in Swansea as Para Series Triathlon takes place

The World Triathlon Para Series makes it return to Swansea this weekend - as the world's best join together with first-time participants in a festival of swim, bike, run.

Taking place on Saturday, June 22, the event will be centred on the Prince of Wales Dock and SA1 Waterfront, and spectators will see Paralympic, World and European champions compete in the World Triathlon Para Series elite races.

Over 100 of the elite from Britain and around the world will compete for valuable qualification points for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. For the latest Swansea news, sign up to our newsletter here.

As the event is held, First Cymru has announced that some of its bus services will need to divert or be suspended. Here is the changes you can expect.

Friday, June 21 (9.30am to 11am)

Service 7 - Suspended

Service 4 - Will not operate via the Civic Centre. Service will instead operate via Oystermouth Road in both directions

Services 6, 31, 33, 38, 51, 84, 87, X1, X5 & X7 - Journeys heading toward Swansea Bus Station will not operate via Sainsbury's. These journeys will instead operate via Parc Tawe, Strand, College Street and Kingsway. Journeys heading out of Swansea Bus Station will be unaffected.

Saturday, June 22 (10am - 6pm)

Service 7 - Suspended

Services 6, 31, 33, 38, 51, 84, 87, X1, X5 & X7 - Journeys heading toward Swansea Bus Station will not operate via Sainsbury's. These journeys will instead operate via Parc Tawe, Strand, College Street and Kingsway. Journeys heading out of Swansea Bus Station will be unaffected.
