Divers in Sweden Find Shipwreck in Baltic Sea

Divers have uncovered two shipwrecks at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, one of which may come from the 14th century. The divers explored the bottom of the Baltic Sea, where conditions allow shipwrecks to sit largely undisturbed.

The videos, released by the Swedish National Maritime Museum on January 30, shows the expedition process as those involved dive 30 meters below sea level with cameras, lamps and diving equipment.

In the first video the divers uncover the Bodekull wreck, a small vessel that sunk in 1678. The report states it is one of the best-preserved ships from the 1600s.

The expedition is aimed at gathering photographs and material for the Treasures of the Baltic Sea museum, expected to open in 2020. The museum will feature some artifacts from the wrecks and allow visitors to explore via digital technology. Credit: The Swedish National Maritime Museum via Storyful
