Yahoo News Doctor Who adds new season 15 directors
Doctor Who has added two new directors for season 15.
Despite not having aired Ncuti Gatwa's first full turn as the Time Lord (season 14) after a dramatic 2023 Christmas special, news about the Sex Education star's second season has included the addition of two new directors for some of its episodes.
According to this month's episode of Doctor Who Magazine, Amanda Brotchie and Makalla McPherson will direct at least an episode each in season 15 of the BBC's sci-fi smash. Brotchie and McPherson have directed Gentleman Jack and Waterloo Road episodes respectively.

McPherson has teased what will be involved in her episodes of Doctor Who. She said that one will include, "a unique crane shot as the Doctor runs through a maze as they escape their captors, which will play for a particular scene".
Continuing, she added, "I hope it will give the viewers a dynamic peek into a bit of cultural history."
For her part, Brotchie said her episodes, "are so different to each other – world, mood, tone, even genre".

"Russell [T Davies, showrunner] has magicked up sensational episodes, with action, humour and emotion, and am ambitious vision I feel privileged to be able to realise on the screen," Brotchie added. "I love that about Doctor Who, that each episode is like its own feature film".
Season 15 will also have a different companion to the 2023 Christmas Special and season 14's Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson). Gatwa has already been spotted filming scenes with Varada Sethu.
Doctor Who will return for its 14th series in May, airing on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere. Classic episodes of Doctor Who are available on BBC iPlayer in the UK.
