Doctor Who has revealed more details about the Toymaker's defeat in the finale of the show's recent 60th anniversary specials.

Neil Patrick Harris took on the role of the classic villain in 'The Giggle', though thanks to some handy teamwork from the bi-regenerated Fourteenth (David Tennant) and Fifteenth (Ncuti Gatwa) Doctors, he was eventually folded away.

The final showdown came to a game of catch between the two Doctors and the Toymaker, and the new novelisation of 'The Giggle' by James Goss has shed some more light on how they took him down.

According to the text (via Radio Times), Fourteen and Fifteen mimed a false throw to disorientate the Toymaker before his eventual miss, and Tennant's Doctor had earlier pretended to nearly fumble a hard throw to stay a step ahead.

Very clever indeed.

In other Doctor Who news, new Doctor Gatwa has recently been seen filming with new companion Varada Sethu, who is set to join the series after current star Millie Gibson reportedly bows out after one series.

Gatwa recently shared his support for Ruby Sunday actress Gibson amid speculation over her departure, posting a picture of them together with the caption: "My lil [Gemini sign] [heart emoji]".

The Fifteenth Doctor's first full series is set to begin from May of this year, and will follow on from the recent Christmas special 'The Church on Ruby Road' – which became a ratings hit over the festive period.

Doctor Who will return for its 14th series this spring. The show airs on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere.

Classic episodes of Doctor Who are now made available via BBC iPlayer in the UK as well.
