Doctor Who spoilers follow.

Doctor Who has released the first episode of new spin-off show Unleashed, ahead of the show's return later this month.

The behind-the-scenes series will give fans an exclusive glimpse at each of the show's new episodes. The spin-off's debut episode delves into the production behind Doctor Who's Children in Need special, which saw David Tennant's Doctor accidentally interrupt the 'Genesis of the Daleks' in tonight's (November 17) minisode.

The special scene saw comedian Mawaan Rizwan as scientist Mr Castavillian, who is presented with a Dalek prototype by an unmutated Davros (Julian Bleach).

The Unleashed episode highlights the production behind the Fourteenth Doctor's first on-screen adventure. In a special behind-the-scenes video posted to Children in Need's X/Twitter account, fans have been treated to an exclusive look at how the iconic scene was filmed.

"We're doing a bit for Children in Need," says Tennant on the set of the minisode, which was filmed on his birthday. "It's a little special scene."

In the video, Unleashed presenter Steffan Powell asks the returning Doctor if he gets confused by the show's various changes in timeline. "Is it very difficult?" quips Tennant, before Powell replies: "I'm just saying you know, I just find it hard to stay across all that."

"Time is relative, Steff," Tennant continues. "It's all just a big ball of timey-wimey stuff."

Doctor Who: Unleashed will also feature exclusive content from the upcoming 60th-anniversary specials, which will see Tennant make his anticipated return alongside Catherine Tate, who reprises her role as companion Donna Noble.

Tennant's appearances will lead into the debut of Sex Education star Ncuti Gatwa as The Fifteenth Doctor, alongside Coronation Street's Millie Gibson as newest companion Ruby Sunday.

Doctor Who returns for three 60th anniversary specials, beginning with 'The Star Beast' on November 25. The show airs on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere.

Classic episodes of Doctor Who are now made available via BBC iPlayer in the UK as well.
