Jemma Redgrave has addressed rumours that she will star in a Doctor Who spin-off.

Ever since showrunner Russell T Davies promised spin-offs to the main show would return in his new era, there have been rumblings that Redgrave's character Kate Stewart could lead a UNIT show.

In a new interview with the Radio Times, Redgrave cautioned fans not to get their hopes up just yet because she's not been asked back beyond a previously announced guest appearance in Doctor Who.

"I don't know anything about a spin-off," she said before adding: "But my book club did message saying, 'I saw something about you having a series' and I said, 'I've heard nothing about it and I should talk to my agent'."

The actress went on: "I don't know about a spin-off but I have been back. I've done one episode in series 14 and it's such a wonderful thing to be part of that family. It was absolutely tremendous and to be part of Russell T Davies' vision is so exciting."

Kate Stewart is the daughter of the legendary Doctor Who character The Brigadier, and has featured through the Steven Moffatt and Chris Chibnall eras before returning for RTD.

Redgrave joins an impressive list of guest stars appearing with new Doctor actor Ncuti Gatwa and companion Millie Gibson in the 14th season.
