Yahoo News Doctor Who's Karen Gillan and Alex Kingston reunite for "mother-daughter bonding"
Doctor Who stars Karen Gillan and Alex Kingston have reunited, with the pair sharing a “mother-daughter” moment.
The duo played Amy Pond and River Song respectively on the BBC series, with a subsequent plot twist revealing that the latter was actually Amy’s daughter, Melody.
Gillan and Kingston may have last appeared on the show in 2013 and 2015, but the pair reunited as they did some Christmas shopping, with the former sharing a video on TikTok.

“Took my daughter shopping,” read the caption, with Gillan saying: “We’re Christmas shopping - mother and daughter bonding time. Let’s go shopping!” Kingston remarked that she would buy a cookery book, with Gillan adding: “Oooooo, exciting.”
Gillan then ended the video with a clip of her in bed, saying: “We forgot to shoot the ending of that video - it’s a very different day and I’m in bed now so this is the end of the shopping video. I hope it’s a good ending.”
Doctor Who returned last month with a trilogy of specials to celebrate the show’s 60th anniversary, with fans getting their first look at Ncuti Gatwa as the Fifteenth Doctor at the end of ‘The Giggle’.

The star will embark on his first solo adventure in the upcoming Christmas special, ‘The Church on Ruby Road’, and recently outlined his hopes for the character, saying: “It's such a hard question to answer because the role of The Doctor is everything anyway.
“They're an explorer that has been around for a billion years, and so they have so many quirks and intricacies in life. [They have] rage and joy, and they're just full of the whole kaleidoscope of emotions. So, to pick what I was going to bring out differently is a very hard question.”
Doctor Who continues with 'The Church on Ruby Road', airing on Christmas Day (December 25). The show airs on BBC One in the UK and Disney+ elsewhere.
