This year, line-up features the likes of the Sugababes, Calvin Harris and Liam Gallagher. Locals will know the festival takes place every July, but not everyone may realise what the event's name means.

What does TRNSMT stand for and where is TRNSMT held?

After the sad news that T in the Park 2017 was cancelled, the same organiser, DF Concerts, announced a new festival. T in the Park, which was then staged in Perthshire, would be replaced by a new event called TRNSMT.

Set in Scotland's biggest city and non-camping, T in the Park's successor was a tad different. Ever since its first festival in 2017, the three-night festival has been held in Glasgow Green, a park in the east end of Glasgow.

There isn't an official explanation for its unique name, but it's widely understood to mean "transmit" - just hold the vowels. The name may be a reference to the transmission of electric signals, as how radio and TV is broadcast.
