Two lanes of motorway are closed after a multi-vehicle crash resulted in the death of a dog.

The incident happened at around 4.53pm today (Friday April 19) on the M56 Eastbound between junctions nine and 10. Congestion is building due to queuing traffic,as two lanes are closed off.

Cheshire Fire have confirmed that six fire engines are in attendance at the scene as well as an animal rescue unit. They are working to release an injured person from a vehicle.
