Dog Shelter Inundated With Water as Severe Floods Affect Croatia

A dog shelter in Ogulin, Croatia, was submerged in water on Tuesday, May 16, when heavy rains caused flooding across the country.

The heavy rains could flood properties, cause power outages, and disrupt traffic and water supplies, the Croatian Meteorological and Hydrological Service said.

This footage shows the Paws in the Heart shelter’s dog pen flooded with water and the rescue dogs barking. The small doghouse seemed to have suffered damage as well, video shows.

Soldiers were deployed to the most-affected areas of the country, as the heavy rainfall caused rivers to rise and houses and schools to get flooded, the Independent reported. Credit: Paws in the Heart Ogulin via Storyful
