Dancing on Ice star Ryan Thomas has opened up about his double fall on the ice during his Musicals Week performance.

The Coronation Street star took two tumbles on Sunday (February 11) night’s show while skating to Sit Down You’re Rocking The Boat, from Guys and Dolls, alongside his professional partner Amani Fancy.

Thankfully Thomas managed to pick himself back up to continue the routine and successfully made it through to the next round of the competition.

Reflecting on his accident-stricken performance, the actor has now reassured fans he’s ready to learn from his mistakes.

Sharing footage of his falls on Instagram, the soap star shared a special message with his followers and thanked his supporters.

"I don’t want to shy away from my mistakes," Thomas wrote. "I have to own it, learn from it, move on, reset & go again!

"It was a tough one to swallow at the time but I have to say a massive thank you to everyone in the audience last night, you really did get me through it."

"After the second fall I wanted the ground to swallow me up but hearing all your cheers give me the courage to finish it!

"And to everyone at home who voted from the bottom of my heart, thank you! I honestly didn’t expect it, it really meant a lot. Can’t believe I’ve got to do it all again on Sunday."

The actor later took to his Instagram Stories to update fans on the injuries he sustained from the falls.

Sharing a photo of an icepack soothing his sore knee, Thomas wrote: "adrenaline has worn off".

Despite being knocked off his feet twice in his routine, Thomas managed to survive a dramatic double elimination and has skated through to next week’s show.

However, it was the end of the road for Taskmaster’s Lou Sanders and Emmerdale’s Roxy Shahidi who were both booted out of the competition.

Dancing on Ice airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
