Hungary could be without influential captain Dominik Szoboszlai in Sunday's huge Group A meeting against Scotland - with boss Marco Rossi admitting he is likely to freshen his team up.

Despite being touted by many as dark horses at Euro 2024, the Hungarians find themselves bottom of the group following a 3-1 defeat to Switzerland and a 2-0 loss to hosts Germany. Even three points against Scotland is unlikely to be enough to see Rossi's men progress as one of the best third-placed teams in the group stage, and their task has been made that bit harder with the news that Liverpool midfielder Szoboszlai missed his team's final training season ahead of Sunday's game at the Stuttgart Arena.

Rossi insists he has no concerns going into the match but says he will make changes for the pivotal clash with Steve Clarke's Scots. "There's not really any worrying situations", he said. "We've assessed from a physical perspective and tactical things. There will be a couple of changes, but that doesn't come down to bad performances. It's just for more freshness.

"I think Scotland are always aggressive. They tried to do that in their first two matches as well. As to whether they will still be, we'll see that tomorrow night.

"But I think we're in the same boat as Scotland. It's not just them who need three points, we do too. Coming away with maximum points might see us through to the knockout stage.

"If that doesn't happen, at least we can go away from Euro 2024 with three points, so our aim is exactly the same as Scotland."

"I think the Scottish team is dangerous in general because of their attitude, but they have some real quality players like John McGinn, Billy Gilmour and Scott McTominay. At the same time, we need to try and find the right mood to face them."

Elsewhere inn Group A, Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann has wished the Scots all the best on Sunday and admits he has been impressed with the Tartan Army's raucous backing and 'tough drinking'. Die Mannschaft have already booked their place in the last 16 but are hoping to win the group with maximum points by beating Switzerland - which in turn could boost Scotland's feint hopes of a second place finish in Group A.

Nagelsmann said: "I've seen a lot of the videos in Munich. They are tough when it comes to beer drinking, the Scottish fans.

"They are very noisy. It was a cool game against the Scottish team. But I wish all the teams the best of luck to be successful. First of all we want to win the game tomorrow against the Swiss. I wish you all the best. The same for the Hungary team. They [Scotland] should fight for the three points."
