Donald Trump painting: ‘The Republican Club’ is hung in the White House and pictures Trump enjoying a Diet Coke with past presidents
Donald Trump has hung a new painting in the White House which shows him relaxing around a table with every Republican president in history.
The Republican Club, by artist Andy Thomas, was spotted in the background by viewers of a recent interview with the president on CBS.
Mr Trump is depicted smiling between Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon, with Abraham Lincoln sat directly opposite.
He appears slim wearing a white shirt and red tie, and with a glass of diet coke – known to be his favourite drink - on the table in front of him.
The painting, which is sold in gift shops across America and online, was given to Mr Trump as a present by California Republican congressman Darrell Issa.

Mr Thomas, who has also produced a painting of the Democrat leaders, said the president personally called him to praise the artwork.
He told the Washington Post: “We had a real nice conversation. Trump said something like “I’m in the Oval Office with Darrell Issa, who you know, and Vice President Pence. We’re looking at your painting. I’ve never seen this! Vice President Pence tells me they’re very well known.”
Mr Thomas added: “I wanted to make everybody look as good-looking as they can, and try to shed the pounds where I need to.
“It’s a good-feeling painting. I just assume people are nice. I try to make people as good-looking and happy as I could.”
