Don't Mess With the Texas Horned Lizard
This vicious-looking guy is a Texas horned lizard. They're defensive critters, with the horns to prove it. Frequently preyed upon by other animals, their distinct coloration and ability to inflate or flatten their bodies allow these lizards to hide in plain sight. As a last defense, they will strike their enemies with a stream of blood shot from their eyes. Sadly, due to Texas's rapid urbanization, their numbers in the wild have dropped drastically.
