Douglas Luiz Aston Villa transfer update as personal terms discussed with Juventus

Juventus have moved closer to signing Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz as personal terms are now being discussed.

Samuel Iling-Junior and Weston McKennie are expected to join Villa as part of a cash plus players deal for the Brazil international. The fee will be in the region of €20m.

Fabrizio Romano has reported that all contracts for all three players are now being finalised as a deal approaches its conclusion. Iling-Junior left Chelsea at the age of 16 back in 2020 to join the Old Lady and enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season.

Meanwhile, McKennie rediscovered his best form last season following a disappointing six-month loan spell at Leeds United in 2022/24. He made 34 Serie A appearances last term and recorded 10 assists in all competitions.

Juve finished third to reclaim their place in the Champions League and also won the Coppa Italia. Max Allegri departed just days after his side won silverware and will shortly be replaced by Thiago Motta.

As for Villa, the sale of Luiz would aid their position in regards to Profit and Sustainability Rules and the additions of McKennie and Iling-Junior would add more depth and versatility to Unai Emery's squad.
