In his final interview, Dr Michael Mosley spoke about his passion for living a good life and the challenges he faced in practising his own advice. The renowned doctor and television personality tragically passed away last week on the Greek island of Symi after going missing for days.

The late doctor was hailed as "one of the most important broadcasters of recent decades" during the first of two tribute programmes. The BBC aired his last interview at the Hay Festival on a special Radio 4 show titled 'There's Only One Michael Mosley', where he discussed the keys to a good life with psychologist Professor Paul Bloom.

Discussing their best advices for a good life, Dr Mosley admits his daily routine involves cold showers along with push-ups and sit-ups every morning, even though they provide him little pleasure. Moreover, when the conversation shifted towards mindfulness and meditation, despite advocating others to practice it, Dr Mosley confessed his personal struggle with practicing the same.

"I mean to do it, and I have long conversations with my wife about it, but somehow we never get round to it," he shared. Further down in the episode, Mosley gave the listeners a peek into one of the "scarier experiments" he had ever encountered - a personality test inside a brain scanner.

"I was stuck in a brain scanner and showed images of someone being hit with a ruler and then they hit me with a ruler," he elaborated. Inquiring about the results, the lead psychologist suggested: "I'd send your wife out of the room at this point."

Upon unfolding that "according to this test, I am a bit of a psychopath", the crowd broke into laughter. However, Professor Bloom was quick to comfort Mosley, affirming: "If you're worried you're a psychopath, you're not a psychopath."

The broadcast, currently accessible on BBC Sounds, will soon take a visual form in an upcoming TV special named 'Michael Mosley: The Doctor Who Changed Britain', airing on BBC One at 8pm on Friday.
