Dr Michael Mosley’s wife has posted for the first time since his tragic death - and has made a heartbreaking promise in his memory.

The TV doctor and This Morning star went missing on the Greek Island of Symi on June 4, prompting a huge search and rescue operation that lasted several days. His body was then found on a rocky area near Agia Marina beach and it was later confirmed that he had died of natural causes.

The late star's wife Clare Bailey took to her Instagram page today to share a heartfelt post about her husband. She thanked fans for their support during the family's difficult time and vowed to continue doing the work that gave Michael "so much joy".

She wrote: "Thank you all for your wonderfully supportive messages. The outpouring of love from so many people has meant a huge amount to me and my family. I'm going to be quiet for a while. I’m sure you will understand.

"But I will be back here soon. I very much want to continue with the work that gave Michael and myself so much joy and such a sense of purpose."

She added: "Once more, thank you so much for respecting my family's privacy so kindly. Michael was an amazing man. Thank you for seeing that too. We miss him so much."
