RuPaul's Drag Race stars Tia Kofi and Elecktra have been confirmed as hosts for the Eurovision Song Contest's Turquoise Carpet.

Known for iconic confessionals, Tia Kofi first appeared on the second season of RuPaul's Drag Race UK in 2021, ultimately finishing in seventh place.

She later returned to compete on RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs. the World earlier this year, ultimately winning the series. She also had brief a cameo role in Hollyoaks in December 2023, playing a heightened version of herself in the episode.

Meanwhile, Elecktra appeared on the first season of Swedish spin-off series Drag Race Sverige, finishing in fourth place.

She later competed to represent Sweden during this year's contest, ultimately losing out to winners Marcus & Martinus who will be representing the host nation this year.

The Turquoise Carpet serves as the official opening ceremony for Eurovision, allowing fans a chance to meet the performers competing in the show. This year's opening special will begin on Sunday, May 5, and will be broadcast live via the contest's YouTube and TikTok accounts.

Years & Years singer and It's a Sin star Olly Alexander will be representing the United Kingdom this year, performing the track 'Dizzy' in the city of Malmö during next Sunday's (May 11) final.

Speaking about his reaction to representing the UK, Alexander said he was "beyond excited to be taking part" in Eurovision.

"I've loved watching Eurovision ever since I was a little kid and I'm beyond excited to be taking part next year," he said.

"I've wanted to do this for a long time and it feels like the right moment to start releasing music under my own name. I'm determined to give it everything I've got and put on an excellent and unforgettable performance for you all!"

The 2024 Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals begin on Tuesday, May 7.
