Drag Race's Valentina "changing history" by hosting spin-off
The next outing in the RuPaul's Drag Race franchise has been announced: Drag Race Mexico is set to premiere this year and will be hosted by Drag Race royalty.
RuPaul's Drag Race season nine and RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars queen Valentina is to co-host the debut season of the Mexican spin-off.
Fans will remember Valentina for her famous lip sync, killer looks and for scooping up the Miss Congeniality title while appearing on Drag Race. Since then, Valentina has graced the cover of Vogue Mexico and racked up multiple TV appearances.

Fellow Drag Race star Lolita Banana will join Valentina as co-host of Drag Race Mexico.
Lolita appeared in the first season of the French version of the show, which aired last year, and placed in the top four.
Speaking to Remezcla, Valentina opened up about leading the new show.
"To be coming into a position of now being a host, it's such an artistic challenge and a graduation," she said.
"The next level in my career is in changing the history of the way people view queer people and queer stories in Mexico. It's truly an honour."

Valentina grew up in California but has worked heavily in Mexico. Both she and Lolita are of Mexican descent.
"I was in a bilingual household where both languages were being spoken, so culturally, I know a lot of references," Valentina continued, "and having worked in Mexico for very long periods of time is something that I’m using as a big source of inspiration for things that I do artistically.
"I'm 100 percent Californian. I'm 100 percent Mexican and it is an honour to be waving both of those flags at this moment."
