Driver rushed to hospital after car flips in crash on M90

A driver was rushed to hospital after their vehicle flipped onto its roof on the M90

Cops were alerted to the incident at South Queensferry at around 5:50am this morning, Wednesday, July 3.

The driver was issued with a fixed penalty for a road traffic offence and taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

An image from the scene shows the red vehicle on its roof following the crash, and captured emergency crews at the scene.

Traffic Scotland reported delays on the motorway this morning while emergency crews handled the incident, with the southbound carriageway restricted.

Just before 8am they confirmed that they road had been cleared and all lanes were running as normal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.50am on Wednesday, 3 July, 2024 police were called to a report of a one-vehicle crash on the M90, near Junction 1 at South Queensferry.

"One driver was issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice for a road traffic offence. They were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh as a precaution."
