Drivers have been left gobsmacked after finding out about a 'secret' function in their car. All vehicles come with handles inside that are usually placed above the windows.

People will often hold onto these handles for comfort or to hang clothes while on long journeys. After use, the handle will retract to its original position.

However, many car owners have been left 'mind blown' after realising you can keep the handle down on its own. All you have to do is lock it in place with a 'secret button'.

On TikTok, one woman was left in awe after discovering the 'little-known' feature. Jess, who goes by username Jmac8781, uploaded a video of her trying out the 'hack' in her car.

To her amazement, the handle did stay down on its own after she pushed the 'button'. Admitting she never knew her car's handle could do this, she said: "No, I did not know. 33 years wasted."

But, Jess is not alone, many other people in the comment section were just as impressed. One person replied: "THE THINGS TIK TOK TEACHES ME KNOWS NO BOUNDS." Regina said: "What the heck?!? 42 years of my existence!"

A second put: "Tiktok made us a little smarter everyday." Kyle exclaimed: "Why don’t these things come with instructions!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhh my life!!!!" Katie admitted: "I didn’t know you could do this."

Meanwhile, others were as impressed. One viewer wrote: "It’s the part to unscrew the handles… not a stopper.." Jordan typed: "Guess I don't see the point. Is it cool that it stays down? It's still a handle just propped down." Elisha added: "Idk if I'm missing something or what but I don't see how this is a big deal???"

However, some people issued a warning, with Kenneth claiming: "I've worked on cars most of my adult life and those there to cover the screws not to hang stuff on. it will break the handle eventually."
