Drivers who find wasp in car face being slapped with £2,500 fine

Drivers have been urged to "stay as calm as possible" if a wasp enters the car to avoid a £2,500 fine. A spokesperson from Motor Match noted that having a wasp enter the vehicle can be a terrifying experience for all drivers as the summer hits.

But the spokesperson for Motor Match said motorists must remain calm. They explained: "Even to people who don't mind wasps, the sudden appearance of one could be quite alarming. When in the enclosed space of a car, it's understandable that they could prove to be a distraction to the driver.

"Nevertheless, it's crucial that we stay as calm as possible and don't let wasps or other insects distract us from driving safely." They advised: "If you encounter a wasp flying around your vehicle whilst driving, remember to remain calm. The calmer you are, the less likely the wasp is to sting you.

"Be sure to wind down your windows to give the wasp an opportunity to escape. Keep your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road." Replying to the warning, a motorist said: "Easier said than done!! In the real world you would pull over safely and stop to let wasp out.

"But of course never like that, so having to take your chances and hope for best." And a second said: "Try getting a wasp go down the front of your open neck blouse then into your bra and repeatedly sting you ,whilst you are going round a corner on your motorbike….yeah right…pulled up started to rake it out…as I was 19 at the time it seemed to cause some interest.

"Lesson learnt….no more riding in impractical clothes because it looked cool…" A third cheekily sniped in reply to the warning: "Open the windows - Wow, never would have thought of that!!!!!!"
