Drone Shows Tiger Shark Swimming Close to Bathers at Perth Beach

Officials closed Mullaloo Beach in Perth, Western Australia, for the second time in a week on Monday, January 9, after a tiger shark was spotted swimming close to the shore.

Sam Wood, who shared the video on his Wanderlust Flyer Instagram account, said the footage was taken at Mullaloo Beach in Perth on Monday afternoon.

Wood’s video shows the shark swimming close to the shore of the busy beach. Speaking to Storyful, Wood said the shark drew quite the crowd.

“The tiger shark gets extremely close to shore, splashing around bringing in a big crowd,” he said.

Mullaloo Beach was also closed on Thursday, January 5, following a sighting of a shark of a similar size, reports said. Credit: Sam Wood via Storyful
