A DRUG dealer operating in Cheshire has been spared immediate jail time.

Cameron Law, of Clive Way, Middlewich, appeared at Chester Crown Court on Friday, June 28, for sentencing.

The court heard the 26 year-old was found with several drugs in his possession in Northwich and Holmes Chapel on March 14, 2022.

These included 0.31 grams of Psilocybin, commonly known as magic mushrooms, which is a class A drug, as well as cannabis, Tetrahydrocannabinol, and 8.9 grams of cannabis resin, all class B drugs.

Law had previously pleaded guilty to possession of class A and B drugs, as well as possession with intent to supply cannabis, at a hearing on April 19 earlier this year.

Judge Simon Berkson handed him a 12-month sentence, but suspended the term for 18 months.

But Law, who was ordered to pay a £156 surcharge, must complete 180 hours of unpaid work in the next year.

Following the sentencing, Law will come back to court on September 13 for a proceeds of crime hearing.
