Dua Lipa teases new single with cryptic video
Dua Lipa has teased a potential new single, titled Houdini, via a cryptic video message.
The One Kiss singer, 28, posted a short clip to her 88.6 million Instagram followers on Tuesday, which featured a snippet of new music.
At the end of the clip, a series of numbers - 4 8 9 9 14 15 21 - flashed onto the screen. The numbers could be re-arranged to form the name Houdini when translated into their corresponding letters, according to New Music Express.
The publication also pointed out that 31 October marks the anniversary of the day magician and escapologist Harry Houdini died in 1926.
The cryptic teaser came more than three years after Dua's widely acclaimed sophomore album, 2020's Future Nostalgia, which spawned the single Levitating.
In an August interview with the New York Times Magazine, the hitmaker revealed that her third album would be released in 2024.
"The album is different - it's still pop but it's different sonically, and there's more of a lyrical theme," she told the publication at the time. "If I told you the title, everything would make sense - but I think we'll just have to wait."
In 2022, the pop star collaborated with Elton John and Australian producer Pnau on Cold Heart, with Megan Thee Stallion on Sweetest Pie, and contributed the track Dance The Night to the 2023 Barbie soundtrack.
