Dudley murder probe latest as two arrested and Buffery Road closed for investigation

A murder investigation continues today, June 22, after a man was fatally stabbed in a Dudley street. The victim was fatally knifed in Buffery Road at around 2.05pm on Friday, June 21.

Police said sadly nothing could be done to save the victim, who has not yet been identified, but was in his 40s. West Midlands Ambulance Service said two other people were treated for less serious injuries.

West Midlands Police confirmed that two men had been arrested, and are being quizzed by detectives. Armed police flooded the area between Buffery Road, School Drive and Sledmore Road on Friday afternoon, and a road closure remains in place this morning, June 22.

A full statement from West Midlands Police states: "We've launched a murder investigation after a man found with stab injuries in Dudley on June 21 has sadly died. We were called following disorder in Buffery Road at just after 2.05pm.

"A man in his 40s was found with serious injuries and tragically nothing could be done to save him. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this terrible time. We're in the early stages of our investigation but two other men have been arrested. They will be questioned in due course.

"One man has been detained on suspicion of murder and one man for affray. A scene remains in place as we continue our enquiries. We're still keen to hear from anyone with information and you can do this via Live Chat on our website, or by calling 101, and quote log 2837 of 21/6/24."

A West Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called by West Midlands Police to reports of a stabbing on Buffery Road, Dudley at 2.09pm.

"Three ambulances, two paramedic officers, a trauma doctor and critical care paramedic, the WMAS Critical Care Car, the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford and the Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance responded to the scene.

"Upon arrival, ambulance staff found three men who were injured, one seriously."
