Dumbarton cars deliberately set on fire at commercial premises as police probe launched

Two vehicles were deliberately set ablaze in Dumbarton in the early hours of the morning.

The incident happened in a commercial yard in the West Bridgend area between 1.30am and 2am on Monday, April 22. Officers from Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crews rushed to the scene shortly afterwards.

The force confirmed the fires are being treated as suspicious. An appeal has now been launched for anyone with information about the blazes to come forward to help officers with their investigation.

Detective Constable Darren Campbell, from Clydebank CID, said: “We are appealing for anyone with information on the fires, or if you believe you saw any suspicious activity near to West Bridgend, to please come forward.

“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 0253 of 22 April, 2024. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
