DWP Universal Credit claimants will receive get money from May 14 - full list of new rates
Universal Credit claimants are set for a financial boost with increased payments kicking in from next week, the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) confirms.
Starting Tuesday, May 14, millions will see their Universal Credit payments rise, although some might have to wait until June 13 to receive the updated amount. This news was highlighted on BBC Radio 4's Money Box by researcher Sandra Hardial, who noted that despite the DWP applying the uplift on April 8, the actual payments are delayed due to being paid in arrears.
Sandra pointed out that the increase is set at 6.7%, but cautioned listeners about the delays. She said: "The six million people on Universal Credit face the longest wait.
