E-bike driver's 'getaway' ruined as police chase him into dead end

An e-bike driver's getaway plan backfired after he tried to evade police by driving down an alleyway - only to find that it was a dead end.

Officers spotted four males on e-bikes driving along Waterloo Road in Blackpool during the early hours of this morning (April 22). Blackpool Police said one of the divers hit a dead end and then performed a 'swift U-turn' before trying to 'make off at speed only to head straight towards awaiting tasking officers'.

He then ditched the bike and fled the scene on foot. Police said the e-bike was seized and 'will join the others in the crusher'. No arrests were reported.
