New public e-scooters and e-bikes will soon be arriving on the Isle of Wight after company Voi replaced Beryl as the provider for the region.

From early next month, Voi will be the sole provider of the rentals in Southampton, Portsmouth and on the Island

Solent Transport said the move to a single area-wide operator will ensure 'long-term financial sustainability'.

All e-scooters and e-bikes will continue to be available to hire through app, Breeze and Voi’s app.

All existing Beryl parking bays will transfer to Voi’s operation and will be rebranded accordingly.

Beryl customers that have purchased minute bundles and have credit remaining can approach the operator directly to discuss a refund.

As part of the expansion, Voi plans to upgrade its e-scooter fleet in early 2025, introducing its latest model which offers improvements in durability and efficiency.

All future Solent FTZ funded rental bike and e-scooter schemes, with any of Solent Transport’s partner local councils will be funded and delivered under a single operator.

Since rental e-scooter, bike and e-bike schemes launched in the Solent area, more than 208,000 people have hired the vehicles, taking over three million trips and travelling more than 7.3 million kilometres.
