E4 Married At First Sight Australia star in Bali hospital with 'severe symptoms'

Australian reality TV personality Cameron Merchant has recounted a harrowing health ordeal during his Bali getaway.

The Married At First Sight Australia celeb took to Instagram to share his battle with 'Bali belly', describing the past day as "rough". The 40-year-old had flown out to the tropical paradise for a mate's wedding but was struck down by severe stomach pains in the wee hours.

In an Instagram Story, he wrote: "Bali belly strikes. Turn of events, up from 2:30am in a world of hurt and depleted of everything within me." Cameron disclosed he ended up on a drip after vomiting for an entire day. He didn't hold back in detailing his discomfort, listing the unpleasant symptoms he endured.

He continued: "Well this is fun... Not such a moment of joy. The cold shivers, the shakes, the hot sweats... makeup your mind Bali belly, which one is it? One depleted human right here, right now."

Thankfully, the following day saw improvement in his condition. Cameron posted a picture of himself enjoying a simple meal of banana and buttered toast beside a pool, his first food intake after fasting for 36 hours, reports OK!.

"First meal in over 36 hours... What a treat! " he captioned, soaking up some sun. Wrapping up his Bali saga, Cameron expressed gratitude towards the hotel staff for their care and shared his excitement about returning to Sydney to be with his loved ones.

Cameron, who starred in MAFS Australia back in 2019, found love on the show with Jules Robinson, 42. The couple's romance blossomed on screen and they decided to make it official, marrying for real once the cameras stopped rolling that year.

In a joyous turn of events, September 2020 saw the arrival of their first child, a gorgeous baby boy named Oliver. Fast forward to March, and the pair shared the delightful news that they're expecting again, with Jules due to give birth any moment now.

The couple excitedly took to social media in March to announce: "When 3 becomes 4. We both can only imagine our hearts capacity to love will just keep on expanding... So excited to announce we have a new addition to the family joining us in July!"

Jules, a successful salon owner and entrepreneur, isn't stopping there; she's already thinking ahead to their next child. Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, she expressed her desire for a larger family: "We want to have another baby. "Who knows? If think if there's a will, there's a way."
