Eamonn Holmes consoled by 'blonde divorcee in her 40s' after Ruth split

Eamonn Holmes has reportedly found solace in a new friendship amidst his split from Ruth Langsford.

Just a week after the shocking joint statement announcing their separation, the 64-year-old presenter is said to be finding comfort with a blonde divorcee in her forties who works as a relationship counsellor. The pair reportedly met last year and their bond has been growing ever since.

The duo have enjoyed several outings together, including a trip to a safari park. Eamonn has also reportedly showered his friend with gifts and supported a charity related to her work by helping host a fundraiser.

Last year, Eamonn treated his close friend to a Beyonce concert and a visit to Centre Parcs, as well as tickets to see his favourite football team, Manchester United.

Their friendship began when she responded to one of his tweets, and it has since evolved from online interactions to real-life companionship. The Daily Mirror has contacted Eamonn's representatives for comment, reports the Mirror.

"She works for a charity Eamonn is involved with from time to time", revealed an insider close to Eamonn. Meanwhile, Ruth is reportedly upset as she was only recently made aware of this connection.

"Ruth was obviously aware that her marriage was crumbling, but as details emerge, her upset has turned to anger. Eamonn's friend is bowled over by being lavished with attention and kindness from him", a source told The Sun on Sunday.

While Eamonn has been candid about the split, Ruth has steered clear of the controversy surrounding her personal life. However, Ulrika Jonsson has come to her defence, labelling Eamonn as "a leading member of the Grumpy Old Men's Club", yet admitting she still holds him in high regard.

Ulrika has voiced her confusion over the criticism aimed at Ruth, who has been branded "Ruthless" for parting ways with Eamonn during his ongoing health issues.

"This is baffling to me. Let's face it, Eamonn, 64, has become a leading member of the Grumpy Old Men's club over the years and he's a proper curmudgeon", Ulrika wrote.

She suggested that perhaps Eamonn's constant grumbling wore thin on Ruth's patience. "It could just be that all his moaning got on Ruth's nerves. There she is, wanting to crack on with life, and she's got an old misery on two walking sticks dragging her down."

Ulrika continued: "Ruth is a damn fine-looking woman and she's smart, empathetic and full of energy - any man would be lucky to have her. I'm sure Eamonn appreciated he was always punching above his weight with Ruth, and I don't doubt he loved her very much."

Friends of Eamonn have also started speaking out, hinting that the sudden end to Ruth and Eamonn's relationship, which seemed strong both on-screen and off for 14 years, might get messy.

Eamonn's representatives have been contacted for comment.
