Eamonn Holmes sent Bond-mania into overdrive after sharing a mysterious monochrome snap on Instagram

The picture showed the GB News presenter looking straight into the lens with a 'gun' type pose unlike any other than that of Sean Connery's James Bond. The 64-year-old simply captioned the image: "A lot to think about .....one of those days."

He was swiftly flooded with comments from fans who didn't waste time speculating whether Eamonn might just be the successor to Daniel Craig's 007. Instagram user Jayne.mathews.60 joked: "Thought you were the new James Bond!!!"

User Bevcroshaw wondered whether taking on the role of cinema's famous spy was what Eamonn was referring to when he said "a lot to think about". They wrote: "Is it whether to be the next 007 with that pose Eamonn??"

Fionaharruman22 said: "James Bond" with a love heart emoji while user Fiona.doolan simply wrote: "Bond." Meanwhile Janward4 suggested he was reminiscent of another Hollywood star. They wrote: "Channelling Goerge Clooney Eamonn. Looking good" with a fire emoji.
