The divorced mum of three has reportedly told friends that she’s ‘in it for the long haul’, but who is Eamonn Holmes’ new love interest?

The showbiz world was left shocked when 64-year-old Eamonn and wife Ruth Langsford announced their divorce in May 2024. Holmes has remained largely silent about the separation, only expressing gratitude to his GB News audience for their support towards both him and Ruth, also 64.

However, it's believed that he's been finding solace with mother of three Katie Alexander. Holmes has reportedly been on a number of outings with the 42-year-old relationship counsellor from Yorkshire. She has been seen accompanying the GB News presenter on various occasions over the past year and has also been spotted at his home.

The two are thought to have met after Katie interacted with one of Eamonn's posts on X, formerly known as Twitter. The news anchor had been present at a mental health charity fundraising event in Yorkshire - which Katie has also worked for as a therapist - and took on the role of a patron, if reports are to be believed.

Katie, from Mirfield in Kirklees , is thought to be a divorcee and mum of three who is 22 years his junior. Her counselling profile on Psychology Today states that she offers sessions from £45 and is based at Eastthorpe Hall in Mirfield, and Independence House in Lindley. Her bio also states that she offers telephone and online counselling as well as “walk and talk sessions for those who prefer the outdoors”.

She also recognised that coming to counselling can be “extremely daunting” and mentions that she has previously attended therapy herself. An endorsement on her profile from councillor Michelle Spendlove describes her as: “Friendly, warm, down to earth and empathic counsellor with a wealth of experience. I would highly recommend her services.”

While her website isn’t specific about the type of counselling that she offers, friends explained that her counselling skills include coping with 'feeling sad' and 'separation and divorce'.

Sources close to the relationship councillor also suggest she is hopeful that her friendship with Eamonn might evolve into a more permanent bond as time goes on. Recently, she has said to have been a pillar of support for Eamonn during his separation from Ruth, although her friends are quick to clarify that their closeness developed only after his marriage had ended.

News broke in May that Eamonn and Ruth's 14-year marriage was ending, with signs of strain having been evident for a while; the pair hadn't been snapped together in two years, reports the Mirror . Katie was observed driving to and from his upscale apartment last week and was identified over the weekend as the individual aiding him through the difficulties of an imminent divorce.

Amidst these revelations, it's understood that Ruth discovered messages on Eamonn's laptop, which were exchanged with an unidentified woman. A source disclosed to The Sun on Sunday said: "Ruth was completely taken by surprise when she saw the messages. She had no idea what had been going on between them. She was devastated. Not only was she very upset but she was also angry."

Introduced by mutual friends, Ruth and Eamonn met in 1997 and waited for over ten years before deciding to tie the knot in 2010. When probed for comment by The Mirror , representatives of Eamonn and Ruth refused to respond.
