Eamonn Holmes has sparked speculation among fans about his marriage to Ruth Langsford after being snapped with his "wonderful" and "close" friend, Linda Lusardi. The former This Morning presenter has been notably quiet on social media about his wife recently.

In a recent post, Eamonn shared a throwback and current photo with his long-time pal Linda Lusardi, an actress, TV presenter and ex-glamour model. He captioned the images: "1982 v 2024 and she hasn't changed a bit. My wonderful, close friend Linda Lusardi who I went to see today," expressing his affection. He also noted their "42 year friendship,".

Fans didn't hold back their thoughts, with one asking: "Where is your beautiful wife Ruth! Why or what are you trying prove! " Sympathy for Ruth was expressed by another fan commenting, "Poor Ruth."

However, some fans defended Eamonn, with one suggesting: "'trying to prove' or simply sharing a picture of a longterm friendship that's lasted all these years .. how do you know it wasn't Ruth taking the picture.," reports the Mirror.

A supporter responded to the negativity, saying: "Why see the negative in this? They have been friends 42 years! Amazing achievement! ! " Another stood up for Eamonn, stating: "He's showing what a good friendship they have! Why do some idiots always have to be negative, derogatory, accusatory and insinuate things? For nothing better to do? Obviously not."

One fan shrugged off the sympathetic tone, stating: "There's no 'poor Ruth', just Ruth. You all are showing yourselves up. I'm embarrassed." While another one justified: "...he's not trying to prove anything. He adores his wife Ruth. He is stating he has a 42 year friendship with Linda whats wrong with that."

"He's allowed friends. And Linda is happily married too. Don't see the issue? " one user cautioned. Another was vexed: "why say this.? This is 2024 not 1954 they can surely have male and female friends and Linda is very happily married!" "The best next door neighbour and FRIEND for us too. I miss @lindalusardi If there's a person you could honestly call a diamond it's her," chimed in another Instagrammer.

Last week, The Mirror covered how Eamonn Holmes, a popular telly face, eased the concerns of his followers who feared separation from his wife Ruth. Sharing a content picture of them together, the 64 year old presenter has been tied in matrimony with Loose Women host Ruth since 2010; their soothing and amicable relationship admired by many.

Co-hosting This Morning together would often end up leaving viewers rolling in laughter, thanks to Eamonn's jolly jibes aimed at his 64 year old wife. Alongside this, the pair also received appreciation for sensitively managing delicate topics on the enduring ITV show.

In recent weeks, fans have expressed concern over the absence of Eamonn and Ruth together. Speculation arose among followers when Eamonn posted a family photo last month, with many pointing out that Ruth was missing from the heartwarming picture.

The GB News presenter shared an image of his eldest son - whom he shares with ex-wife Gabriele, from whom he separated in 1994 - along with his wife and children at a christening celebration. The comments section of the Instagram post was inundated with queries about Ruth's absence from the photo. Subsequent pictures posted by Eamonn have only heightened concerns about a potential rift between the couple.

However, on Friday, Eamonn posted a throwback photo of himself and Ruth looking content together. The picture, taken in May 2018, shows the couple smiling together.

During a Loose Women episode last month, Ruth voiced her fears about Eamonn leaving her for another woman. She told the panel: "See I think, people go, 'Oh, you'd hate it if you were dumped for a younger woman'. I go, 'No, I would hate it because...' then I could do the whole cliche thing, 'Oh, Eamonn is such a cliche, he's going with a 25-year-old, how sad.' But then I think 'No, the worst thing for me is if he went off with someone the same age'. I think that is harder than being dumped for someone younger. That's my worst fear."

Co-stars were quick to dismiss any concerns over Eamonn leaving Ruth. Linda Robson declared, "That's not going to happen."

Sharing her perspective, Brenda Edwards added: "Well, apart from my ex-husband who was like four or five years older than me, everyone else I've dated has been younger, but not more than five years."

The love story of Eamonn and Ruth spans several years, beginning in 1996, following which they welcomed their son, Jack, in 2002 and tied the knot in 2010. Eamonn also fathers three other children from his previous marriage with Gabrielle: sons Declan, 35, Niall, 31, and daughter Rebecca, 33.

The pair hosted This Morning together from 2006 until 2021; their departure left many viewers disappointed.
