Early County Sheriff’s Lieutenant dies after battle with kidney failure

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Early County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant James Kimble died this week after a lengthy battle with kidney failure, the sheriff’s office announced.

Lt. Kimble joined the sheriff’s office in 2015 and was diagnosed with kidney failure in 2021.

On Friday, April 12, at 4:00 p.m., the Early County Sheriff’s Office will perform a last ride for Lt. Kimble, starting on East Boulevard and continuing down Jesse Johnson Street, South Main Street, Court Square, North Main Street, Church Street, and College Street, in Blakely.

That same day, at 6:00 p.m., a life service and balloon release will be celebrated at Early County High School’s football field.
