Voters across the East Londonderry constituency have gone to the polls in the 2024 General Election and have chosen their new MP and it was a contest that went down to the wire with a full recount taking place in Magherafelt.

A firmly unionist constituency that comprises much of the east and north of Co Derry, no nationalist has ever been returned as MP for East Londonderry since the creation of the constituency following boundary changes in the early 1980s.

It was a very close race and the last seat to declare in Northern Ireland, with the DUP's Gregory Campbell retaining his seat by just 179 votes.
