East Texas Giving Day: More than $3M raised for East Texas nonprofits

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – According to their website, East Texas Giving Day saw over $3 million raised for nonprofits across East Texas.

Organizations receive community support during East Texas Giving Day

East Texas Giving Day announced that their preliminary numbers show $3,545,519 was raised by a total of 5,918 donations to 353 organizations, along with 232 volunteers pledging 9,284 hours of service.

“On April 30th, our community came together to support area nonprofits in a big way. We couldn’t have done it without all of you: donors who gave both financially and of their time through pledged volunteer hours, nonprofits who worked hard to communicate the need in our communities and media sponsors who shared our message of philanthropy!”

This year the previous year’s funding was surpassed by $684,666, with last year’s total of $2,860,853.

The top donated organization this year was Northeast Texas Community College with $255,534 raised in 194 donations.

The date for next year’s East Texas Giving Day has been announced as being April 29, 2025.
