East Texas institutions to receive flexible grants for mental health services

TYLER, Texas (KETK) – The Hogg Foundation awarded three East Texas Institutions flexible funding grants.

According to a release, the Hogg Foundation awarded their Reliable Flexible Funding for Mental Health and Well-being (RFF) grants for mental health organizations throughout Texas that are “historically under-resourced.” According to the Hogg Foundation, Arp Independent School District, the City of Longview and Smith County Clubhouse are among the institutions to receive grants.

The Hogg Foundation said that the RFF grants are designed to be flexible, rather than other grants that are restricted to particular projects.

“The RFF initiative gives organizations the flexibility and autonomy to determine how to best sustain their overall capacity and stability, support their operational needs, deepen their presence and expand their reach. Ultimately this approach fosters greater mental health outcomes for these communities in the long-term,” Crystal Viagran, director of finance and operations and project lead for the RFF initiative, said.
