EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt has fiercely denied that there is tension between himself and Danny Dyer after claims of an on-set clash.

It's been confirmed that Danny will be taking a short break from the soap but EastEnders continues to deny that it has anything to do with Danny's off-screen behaviour, and now Danny's co-star Adam has weighed in with a denial of his own.

"This is news to me considering Danny and I had a great chat before he went on his break," Adam said. "As Danny would say, it's pony."

The unsubstantiated rumours claimed that Dyer sparked a backlash on set by repeatedly storming off and falling out with stars such as Woodyatt (Ian Beale) and Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell).

An EastEnders spokesperson previously told Digital Spy that there was "absolutely no truth" to the allegations, adding: "Danny is always a consummate professional. Danny has never walked off set, nor has he ever lost his temper or been rude to anyone at work.

"Danny is an extremely popular member of cast and respected by everyone on the show.".

All the speculation began last week after a report suggested that Dyer had been forced to take a break from the soap to "sort his life out" but an EastEnders spokesperson then confirmed to Digital Spy that this wasn't true.

"Danny is on a short break from EastEnders. This was not enforced by bosses, nor has he quit the show," a spokesperson said.

They also later told us that there was "no truth" to the rumours that a permanent exit storyline was being planned or discussed for Mick.

EastEnders airs on BBC One.
