Yahoo News EastEnders airs another cast member exit in latest episode
EastEnders spoilers follow from Thursday's episode (March 9), which is available to watch now on the BBC iPlayer.
EastEnders has aired exit scenes for Violet Highway in the show's latest episode.
Gwen Taylor has left the role of Vi after nearly two years in the Walford soap.
Earlier this week, Vi's final storyline began as she started receiving phone calls from a number that wasn't in her contact list.
When Vi finally answered, she discovered that her mystery caller was her grandson Stuart, who'd changed his number.

After a catch-up over the phone, Vi agreed to become a live-in nanny for Stuart and his wife Rainie.
Thursday's episode, which is available to watch early on the BBC iPlayer, saw Vi share her decision with her other grandson Callum Highway and his husband Ben Mitchell.
Vi explained: "I know it's sudden, but Stuart was in a right state. I mean, taxidermy's a very pressurised job, you know. And what with the baby and all.
"Rainie's got this night job for a security firm and they need me right now – more than you do. It's only an hour away – it's no big deal."

Callum and Ben made plans to see Vi off with a drink at the Queen Vic.
As they said their goodbyes, Vi accepted that she'd been prejudiced about LGBTQ+ relationships before Callum found love with Ben.
She said: "But these last few months, when you got back together again, has made me realise that gay marriage is something to be taken very seriously."
Gwen Taylor's casting in EastEnders was announced in March 2021, and she made her first appearance in the show two months later.
An EastEnders spokesperson confirmed to Digital Spy that Gwen has now left the cast, with the show wishing her all the best for the future.
