Yahoo News EastEnders airs surprise passion for two unexpected characters

Phil Mitchell has cheated on Kat Moon in shocking EastEnders scenes.
Tuesday's (September 12) episode saw Phil hooking up with the late Lola Pearce-Brown's mother Emma Harding, who has arrived back in Walford after secretly texting with granddaughter Lexi for weeks.
Phil has been on the outs with fiancée Kat all week long, and it came to a head when he tried and failed to make peace. He went so far as to seek advice from ex-wife Sharon Watts, who encouraged Phil not to give up on his relationship with Kat after all they've been through.

Phil tried to surprise Kat with flowers and chocolates, but even that didn't work so he stormed off to Peggy's nightclub alone.
While Sharon was trying to talk Kat round at the Vic, Phil was surprised at his club when Emma turned up to demand a gin and tonic. This was after a difficult day for Emma when Ben Mitchell discovered she'd been in contact with Lexi and banned her from seeing her granddaughter.
Jay had agreed to speak with Ben on her behalf, but Emma was definitely feeling low when she ran into Phil at Peggy's.
Emma argued that it's not okay to push her out of Lexi's life because she had a difficult history with daughter Lola, asking: "Am I supposed to ignore what [Lexi] wants because it doesn't fit in with someone else?

"Don't tell me you've never messed up Phil, never done the wrong thing thinking it was right."
Those words struck a chord with Phil, as he's made more than his share of mistakes with his own children over the years.
"Wives and kids, I think you like to have them near but then you haven't got a clue what to do next," Emma declared. "You pretend to care about others, but deep down, you're just thinking about what they might do to you… People like us, we break things. It's how we're designed. It's what we do."
The soap cut back to Kat setting off to find Phil, having no idea that he was hooking up with Emma in the back room of the nightclub.
