EastEnders' Callum Highway intervenes in Phil and Sharon clash in first-look photos

From Digital Spy

Callum Highway will be caught in the middle of Phil and Sharon Mitchell's feud in EastEnders.

Sharon (Letitia Dean) learned the truth from a drunk Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) this week that Keanu Taylor is still alive, and although she promised never to tell anyone, she's continued to taunt her ex Phil.

In first-look photos from Thursday's (January 23) EastEnders episode, we can see that Sharon will once again attempt to rile up Phil by dropping in at the Arches.

Sharon's latest attempt at gaining revenge will spiral out of control when Phil loses his cool, forcing Ben's (Max Bowden) on-off boyfriend Callum (Tony Clay) to intervene in order to protect Sharon.

Callum was stunned last week when Ben confessed that he was responsible for a man's death, though he's yet to discover the full details of the Mitchells' Christmas plot.

There are reports that Callum will end up drawn into the Mitchells' web of darkness further next month, when he will apparently be kidnapped by a returning Keanu as revenge against Ben.

Though he only left the Square a few weeks ago, Danny Walters (who plays Keanu) was recently photographed back on set as the cast filmed a week of special episodes on the River Thames for EastEnders' 35th anniversary.

This special week will be extremely eventful as the Carters' boat party takes a (literally!) disastrous turn, while another character ends up dead.

Sharon has her own comeuppance on the way next week, when she will be given some home truths from long-time love rival Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth).

EastEnders airs Sharon and Phil's latest clash on Thursday (January 23) at 7.30pm on BBC One.
