EastEnders fans left baffled as Max Branning marries former sister-in-law Rainie Cross in bizarre plot twist

EastEnders fans were left baffled by the latest twist in the Branning tale as Max returned to Walford this week.

The former villain returned home to Albert Square with a surprise in store as he set about booking to newly reopened club for a drinks reception to introduce his new wife.

In the opening scene of Tuesday’s episode, viewers saw Max take the hand of his bride but had to wait the whole episode to find out the identity of his newest spouse.

And they were left horrified when Rainie Cross – sister of ex-wife Tanya –walked in and passionately kissed her husband.
