EastEnders fans rumble Sharon Watts' 'real plan' as she kisses ex-husband Phil Mitchell

EastEnders' iconic couple Sharon Watts and Phil Mitchell appeared to have reunited during Tuesday's episode (June 18) as the pair shared a kiss. Sharon has been desperate to keep the deadly events from Christmas Day a secret after Keanu Taylor was stabbed to death by Linda Carter.

But this week Phil has been left suspicious over Keanu's death after Karen Taylor returned to The Square for her son's funeral. After Callum Highway told father-in-law Phil that Sharon was acting suspiciously over the murder of her former lover Keanu, Phil paid Sharon a visit.

He spied a text from Linda Carter stating that Karen had left Walford. The message also said Callum was questioning her version of events after she pinned the murder on Dean Wicks, who remains in prison for the crime.

When Phil demanded the truth from Sharon, she tried to dismiss him but was ultimately forced to come clean about everything that happened last Christmas. Phil was stunned as Sharon revealed how Nish Panesar had been struck down by Denise Fox due to attacking Suki, after which Keanu strangled Sharon and Linda stabbed him to save her life. Sharon said she thought she was going to die as Phil looked on shocked.

She also explained that Johnny Carter and Jack Branning now knew the truth. Phil insisted that relapsed alcoholic Linda was a loose cannon, offering to report her to the police himself to save Sharon from a lifetime of harbouring this dark secret.

Sharon told Phil that Linda was trying to stay sober once more and asked him consider the families of those involved. She also reminded Phil that she had loved Keanu, and had lost so many people in her life over the years.

Phil opened up about being indirectly responsible for the deaths of her son Denny and his father Dennis. He vowed that no one would ever hear anything from him. This sparked a conversation about the past as the once married couple took a trip down memory lane.

She even mentioned when they first spent the night together in the 1990s behind Grant Mitchell's back. Phil shared his joy that they share son Albie as "it felt right", and that they were soul mates.

As Sharon and Phil kissed, some EastEnders fans were left suggesting that she is using him to protect The Six for being exposed. Taking to X, one person wrote: "Ar Sharon better just be seducing Phil to keep him quiet! Too soon for her to bring out the poisoned pudding? #EastEnders."

A second exclaimed: "I really enjoyed the Phil & Sharon scenes today but big NO to any reunion for them hopefully Sharon just kissed him to make sure he wouldn’t expose The Six #EastEnders."

A third chimed in with: "Have a feeling Sharon only said all that to Phil so he’d keep quiet (or at least that’s what I hope). as I’m personally tired of the constant phil/sharon circle."
