Yahoo News EastEnders heartbreak as Linda pushes Mick to despair
Linda Carter will push her husband Mick to breaking point on EastEnders next week when she decides to get revenge on Whitney.
The Carters' once-solid marriage has hit the rocks in recent weeks after Mick confessed to kissing Whitney while Linda was away from Walford.
But despite her determination to put her husband's betrayal behind them, Linda will find her facade starting to slip in upcoming scenes – with very worrying repercussions.
Unable to convince Linda that Mick is over Whitney, Shirley invites Woody and Whitney over for lunch in a bid to prove her point and put the past behind them.
But Shirley's good intentions come back to bite her when the awkward lunch turns into a disaster due to Linda being unable to keep a lid on her emotions.
A tipsy Linda initially decides to wind Mick up by flirting with Woody, but things get even worse when she loses her temper and tells Woody what's been going on with Whitney.
Unsurprisingly, Linda's lunchtime antics prompt her to clash with Mick once again, but she leaves him at a loss when she admits that she's not sure she can move on from this.
At the end of his tether, a crestfallen Mick is forced to state the obvious with Linda – telling her that if she can't move forward then it might be the end of their relationship.
Fans will have to tune in to see whether next week's scenes really could mark the end for the Carters, but there is a glimmer of hope when Mick decides to buck up his ideas again.
In another attempt to prove how sorry he is, Mick surprises Linda with a touching present but is taken aback by her reaction.
Struggling to cope, Linda decides to reach out to her friend Sharon Mitchell as she confides in her about the situation, but will it prompt her to fight for her marriage? Or is it really the end?
EastEnders airs these scenes next week on BBC One.
