Yahoo News EastEnders hints at Stacey and Hayley connection
EastEnders hinted at a mystery connection between Stacey Fowler and newcomer Hayley as they came face-to-face tonight (February 22).
Hayley (Katie Jarvis) made her first appearance earlier this month, spying on Martin Fowler and taking pictures of him – before reporting back to an unknown contact over the phone.
As promised, Hayley returned to screens in tonight's scenes – making a beeline for Martin when she approached him on the market.
Martin (James Bye) was taken aback by Hayley's unsubtle flirting, but was encouraged by his friend Kush Kazemi to give her a chance after bumping into her again in the cafe.
Although Martin reluctantly agreed to get to know Hayley, he later rejected the chance to take things further when she asked him out on a date.
Hayley was undeterred by Martin's knockback and gave him her number anyway, but they were soon interrupted by Stacey – who'd been tipped off about their meeting by Kush.
Hayley wasted no time in throwing insults at a seemingly unimpressed Stacey, and it quickly became clear that there was more to the situation than meets the eye.
As Hayley went to leave, she whispered something intriguing in Stacey's ear – hinting that they may not actually be strangers after all.
We already know that Hayley's intentions aren't what they seem, but what is her game? Does she know Stacey? And what has she got planned for Martin?
Other than that, tonight's hour-long special primarily focused on Aidan Maguire's ongoing reign over the Square as he left both Vincent Hubbard and Mick Carter fearing for their livelihoods.
Vincent was horrified when he realised that The Albert's new buyer was none other than Aidan himself – leaving him with no option other than to sign everything over to the villain.
Mick, meanwhile, got a shock of his own when he realised that Aidan was orchestrating the drugs scandal at The Vic.
EastEnders continues on Monday, February 26 at 8pm on BBC One.
